On Thursday afternoon, driving back from Lake Pleasant (fabulous homeschool event, needs a post soon), we stopped by the Trader Joe’s in Sun City. Duncan wanted to stop by the sample booth, remembering fondly the apple squash soup he had tasted the last time we were all at TJs. This time they were serving tortelloni with gorgonzola and walnuts. I thought they would be much more interested in the carrot plus juice, but much to the surprise of myself and the sample woman, Duncan, Cheanna and Emma each had at least two tortellonis. They would have had more, but she needed to cook another batch and I wanted to go to the check-out.
So we compromised–I bought the ingredients I needed to make them here at home. Emma has been asking about it every few hours or so since then and I finally buckled down tonight. Here’s how it goes.
Â
Cook one package of Trader Joe’s Artisan Whole Grain Tortelloni with Gorgonzola, drain and brown lightly in butter. Place chunks of from a tub of crumbled Gorgonzola on tortellonis and cook until cheese has melted. Remove from pan and served topped with chopped/diced walnuts.Â
More rave reviews here at home, including the title of the post. I bought three packages of tortellonis so we’ll be able to twice repeat the culinary delight. Â

In Harmony by Téa
Elena spoke in Primary today, and it will probably happen again this year. Her class is now the oldest in Junior Primary so she will have more opportunities to participate through talks, scriptures and prayers than she did last year.

It was a long way for Joseph and Mary to walk to Bethlehem. Joseph found Jesus and Mary and Jesus had brothers and sisters. When Jesus was a little child Joseph and Mary had babies.
Â
When I was a little child my Mommy and Daddy had babies and I have brothers and sisters too. My brothers and sisters are really my friends. My family is important to have and my baby brother will play with me. I’m glad that I have a family just like Jesus.

Elena’s teachers report she is talkative in class but at least she’s talking about the lesson material =)

Not sure what I’ll be doing this weekend to celebrate, though I’m sure there will be less chest pain and more strawberries than I’ve had so far this month!
So it’s all downhill from here, judging by the ultrasounds it’s been a smooth ride so far. Baby R is growing appropriately for dates, healthy heartrates, and all other measurements within normal parameters. I’m still losing weight, so it was quite a relief this week to have those results back!
I’m racing against Dr. Castilla’s recovery time, she is ~5 weeks ahead of me and if I go too early there is a possibility she won’t be the one to deliver the baby. I’ve decided that I will just have to go into labor outside of her house so she has to deliver me if it comes to that ;)  Seriously, even if she’s not back to office hours yet she would like to be the doctor on call for me as long as everything goes well for her in April.
I do have so many things swirling around that I want to post on, it’s just been low on the list. Homeschool &Â working with the children in creating Christmas thank-you cards with the stamping set has taken up much of this week. I have a renewed appreciation for typesetters!!
Thanks for the well wishes, everyone!  Â
Wake me when it’s the new year, eh?

all that jazz by Téa
What’s that you say? 2007 already? My how time flies…
Happy New Year!
I’ll be sure to write more later when I’m not as nauseated–I’ve strained my chest muscles with some violent heaving (dry and, er, not dry) and the past few days haven’t been very pleasant with the pain and all that.
Good thing it wasn’t this bad last week when my Dad, Ruth, Ken, Kurt and Kayla were here! It was fun, guys, thanks for the visit!!
