07/17/2004: "T minus 45 days and counting"

Six weeks from today, Richard will be back from Georgia and we will complete the process of packing up and saying goodbye to family and friends in Idaho. Three days after that we plan to take our van and u-haul our way to Phoenix to find a place to live. It's a difficult balance to keep, between trying to plan everything out ahead of time and ensuring we make the most of the time we have remaining. I miss Richard so much, this time apart has been harder than I ever dreamed it would be. I feel grateful for the support I have while he's away, and for cell phones and the internet that allow us to communicate on a daily basis. Going to bed alone is still hard, but at least we can have "pillow talk" when I use the speaker phone option.
